Fashionable Clothes for Nursing Moms

When Elisa Minsk Hartstein's first child was born, she searched the maternity stores, malls and Internet for nursing wear that was attractive and comfortable. Because she was a career woman, Hartstein needed professional clothing to wear at work, comfortable clothing for weekend wear and more formal attire for the many weddings that she was attending that first year after her daughter's birth. What she found was less than encouraging.

"All I could find were frumpy nursing shirts with obvious horizontal flaps, oversized tunics and matronly styles," says Hartstein. "They all made me feel unattractive, and I was shocked that after nine months of wearing stylish and fashionable maternity clothes that I had to step back 30 years into dowdy nursing wear."

After talking with other nursing moms who felt there was a need for fashionable nursing wear, Hartstein dreamed of starting her own company.

"I decided to start a company that would take 'regular' fashions and adapt them for nursing in order to offer today's nursing mothers a fashionable option in nursing wear," she says. With partner Ed Hyken by her side, Expressiva Nursingwear was born in June of 2000.

The Latest Trends
Casting aside the frumpy, old-fashioned styles for more modern and unique designs, Hartstein has developed a line of nursing wear that offers nursing moms a wider selection of attractive clothing for all occasions.
